T.G.I.F.?
Anybody said this yet today to yourself or someone else?
Anybody feeling like the person in the picture?
I recently posted about burnout, and the response was notable.
Burnout happens when people feel like they have to perform at 100% all the time. Instead you want to give your team room to be human, as well as yourself, of course. Flexible schedules, realistic deadlines, and understanding that not every day looks the same can go a long way. Productivity is not the only win!
Unclear expectations create stress really quickly. When employees know what success looks like and feel comfortable asking questions, they spend less time in anxiety and more time doing meaningful work with focus. So knowing what you want and need from employees and being as clear in your communication as possible about it is very calming and empowering to your team.
The two biggest drivers of employee loyalty are being seen and heard. People burn out more rapidly when they do not experience these things. Regular, genuine recognition reminds your team that their work matters and they are valued. Making appreciation a part of the culture feels good to everyone and not just at an annual meeting or during formal performance reviews.
Imagine having employees feel excited to show up on Monday morning and not half-checked out before Friday is even here. This IS possible!
When you lead with kindness, you are setting the stage for greater employee satisfaction and better results in every way you can imagine.
I'd love to learn more about how you create a positive culture for your teams. Please comment or DM me so we can uplift everyone's workplace wellbeing together!
Have a great weekend!
