Infusing Kindness into Your Leadership

Today is "National Random Acts of Kindness Day" & probably most of you will be spending it at your office, so why not spend time intentionally connecting with team members just to do a little check in?

I am currently a participant in a program to learn more about strategic financial planning, and just yesterday, one of the concierges reached out in an email just to say hello, see how the program was going for me, and offered to meet to receive any feedback or offer any solutions if I was experiencing any difficulties.

This two minute gesture meant so much to me even though the program is going well for me, and I have no questions or concerns at this time.

However, this small act felt significant, high class, and made me feel taken care of when I wasn't even asking for it.

This is how you want your team to feel.

According to the APA Work in America report (https://bit.ly/4aTD0xc), about 92% of workers say it’s important to work for an organization that values emotional and psychological well-being, and more than half say psychological safety is a top priority.

92%??? That's almost everyone. I know turnover costs are astronomical for companies, and the top drivers of employee loyalty are feeling seen and heard.

So, I challenge you today to consider how you can infuse kindness today and consider making it a consistent aspect of your leadership approach.

And please share in the comments what you are currently doing to help your team members to feel seen and heard, so we can inspire each other with great ideas!

My framework, The K.I.N.D.N.E.S.S. Code™ can offer insights, research validation, and practical ways to create a culture that supports workplace wellbeing and drives collective success.
